Hello, my name is Peter MacKenzie, and welcome to this Juniper Mist AI Wireless LAN Design Website. Now through a series of videos and graphics, we will guide you through the entire wireless LAN design process using a structured design framework, industry best practices, along with tried and tested methodologies, providing you with all the knowledge and skills you need to successfully design a Mist AI wireless network, which will simply work, providing your users with exceptional user experience. Now, we’ve organized this website to use in the four wireless LAN design phases specified by the Wireless LAN Association’s Structure Design Methodology. They are define, design, deploy, and diagnose.
We’ve also designed the website, so you can explore the content in whichever order you choose, dipping in and out as you like. However, if you’d like a more structured learning experience, you can also follow the website in order using the video index as a guide. Now, along our journey through the wireless LAN design, two friends will help guide us through the dos and don’ts of wireless LAN design. We have Stanley, our experienced network engineer, who’s been in the networking business for the last 30 years. He has installed more network switches than most people have had hot dinners. And in his own words, what he doesn’t know about CLI configuration is not worth knowing.
Now, while a recent change in Stanley’s role has seen him installing wifi for the first time, Stanley doesn’t see how wifi will cause a man of his experience any problems. After all, he got his home wifi router set up in record time. And he used a wireless scanner to check which channels his neighbors were on and discovering no one was using channel four, Stanley optimized his wifi to utilize this unused channel. Way to go, Stanley. And then we have one of Juniper Mist AI’s latest certified engineers. This is Misty, who has been working in the networking industry for six years, and over that time has focused her education on specializing in wireless LAN design, obtaining both vendor-neutral and Juniper Mist AI certifications. So if you’re ready, join me, Peter, Stanley and Misty as we explore wireless LAN design.
